Frequently asked questions

What does the bottom radiator hose (PCH116360) do?
The bottom radiator hose returns cooled coolant from the base of the radiator to the engine, feeding the water pump on the suction side of the cooling circuit. It's a genuine Land Rover moulded hose for the Freelander 1 1.8L K-Series petrol engine.
Which Freelander 1 does this bottom hose fit?
This bottom radiator hose fits the Land Rover Freelander 1 (1996-2006) with the 1.8L K-Series (K16) petrol engine, from VIN (V)1A000001. Check your VIN and engine before ordering, as the diesel models use a different bottom hose.
How many bottom radiator hoses are needed?
Typically one bottom radiator hose is needed per vehicle, and it's sold individually. When fitting it, it's worth renewing the hose clips and inspecting the other cooling hoses, since they usually perish at a similar rate on the K-Series engine.
What are the signs this bottom radiator hose needs replacing?
Radiator hoses usually need replacing when the rubber turns soft, swollen, cracked or weeps at the clip ends. On the Freelander 1 1.8 K-Series, a failing bottom hose causes coolant loss and overheating, which risks head gasket damage. Replace it if spongy or split.
