Power steering hose forming the low-pressure supply leg of the power steering hydraulic circuit, running from the fluid reservoir outlet to the inlet of the power steering pump.

Fluid is drawn down this hose into the pump suction port, where it is pressurised and fed on to the steering box. As the hose sits on the suction side, a perished or porous hose usually draws air into the system instead of leaking visibly - expect aerated fluid, pump whine and uneven assistance rather than a puddle.

Moulded to the routing used on petrol engine installations with power assisted steering.
