Power Steering Reservoir Cap - the screw cap that closes the power steering fluid reservoir in the hydraulic steering circuit.

It seals the reservoir filler neck, retains the fluid and keeps dirt and moisture out of the system. A hardened, distorted or split cap seal lets fluid weep from the neck and admits air to the low-pressure return side, which shows as foaming fluid, an inconsistent level reading and a noisy pump.

Small enough to be overlooked, but worth renewing whenever the reservoir or the steering hoses are disturbed.
