Inner Tie Rod is the inner track rod ball joint of the steering rack assembly.

It screws into the end of the rack shaft and connects the rack to the outer track rod end, transferring rack travel to the steering knuckle. The integral ball joint allows the linkage to articulate as the suspension moves through its travel. It sits behind the rack gaiter, which has to be released to reach the joint.

Fitted in pairs, one at each end of the steering rack. Wheel alignment must be reset after replacement.

Two inner tie rods are needed per vehicle, one per side, on the Range Rover L322 from VIN 7A000001. It's cross-referenced as TIQ000040. They're often replaced in pairs along with the rack gaiters to keep both sides consistent.
What are the signs of a worn inner tie rod?
A worn inner tie rod typically causes steering play, a clunk over bumps, and uneven front tyre wear on the L322. The internal ball joint develops slack over time. A wheel alignment is usually needed after fitting a new inner rod.
