Radius Arm Housing & Bush - Left-Hand Side for the Freelander 1 rear independent suspension.

The radius arm runs longitudinally between the rear subframe and the hub carrier, locating the rear wheel fore and aft. This housing is pressed into the forward end of the radius arm and carries the compliance bush that interfaces with the subframe mounting pin. The bush absorbs road vibration and allows the controlled articulation required as the arm travels through its arc. This is the left-hand side assembly.

Frequently asked questions

What does the radius arm housing and bush do on a Freelander 1?
The radius arm housing and bush forms the left-hand inner pivot of the radius arm on the Land Rover Freelander 1 (1997-2006). The arm locates the rear wheel fore and aft, and the bush absorbs road vibration while allowing the controlled articulation the arm needs through its travel.
Is this the left or right side, and are the two sides interchangeable?
This is the left-hand (LH) assembly for the Freelander 1. The right-hand side is a separate part (RBX101800). The housings are typically handed, so order by side rather than assuming one fits both.
What are the signs the radius arm bush needs replacing?
Worn radius arm bushes on the Freelander 1 typically show as clunking over road irregularities, imprecise handling and uneven rear tyre wear. The bush is pressed into the housing, so the complete housing and bush assembly is replaced as one unit.
How many do I need for a full repair?
One housing and bush covers the left-hand side only. If both rear sides are worn, you'll also need the right-hand assembly (RBX101800). Replacing both sides together typically gives the most consistent handling result.
