Radius Arm Bush - Upper - Rear is the rear upper pivot bush for the rear radius arm.

It is pressed into the radius arm at its inner mounting and isolates the joint where the arm attaches to the chassis. The radius arm controls fore-and-aft location of the rear suspension under braking and acceleration, and this bush damps that joint while allowing the arm to articulate through suspension travel. The bonded rubber element sets the compliance of the mounting; as it perishes the arm develops play, allowing rear geometry to shift and producing knock, vague handling or uneven tyre wear.

Frequently asked questions

What is the rear upper radius arm bush used for on a Discovery 3 and 4?
The rear upper radius arm bush is the rear upper pivot bush for the rear radius arm on the Land Rover Discovery 3 (2005-2009) and Discovery 4 (2010-2016). It's pressed into the arm's inner mounting where it attaches to the chassis, isolating the joint while letting the arm articulate through suspension travel.
What are the signs the rear upper radius arm bush is worn?
A worn rear upper radius arm bush typically perishes, letting the arm develop play. On the Discovery 3 and 4 this lets rear geometry shift and produces knock, vague handling or uneven tyre wear. The radius arm controls fore-and-aft location under braking, so a perished bush can unsettle the rear.
Does this bush fit both Discovery 3 and Discovery 4?
This rear upper radius arm bush fits both the Discovery 3 (2005-2009) and Discovery 4 (2010-2016), which share rear radius arm geometry. Use your VIN to confirm the rear suspension layout if your vehicle has been modified or had non-standard arms fitted.
Does this bush come under another part number?
This rear upper radius arm bush interchanges with Land Rover number LR051616 for the Discovery 3 and Discovery 4 rear radius arm. An order may be supplied under either reference, so match the number on your existing bush to confirm.
