Shock Absorber - Front - RH is the right-hand front damper in the air-suspension front corner.

It controls the motion of the front suspension at the right-hand side, damping spring oscillation to keep the wheel in contact with the road and stabilise body movement under braking, cornering and over uneven surfaces. It works alongside the air spring at that corner, the air spring carrying the load while the damper controls the rate of movement.

Replace a damper showing fluid leakage, reduced damping or noise to restore ride control and stability.

Frequently asked questions

What does the front right-hand shock absorber do on a Range Rover L322?
The front right-hand shock absorber is the damper for the right front corner on the Range Rover L322 (2002-2009). It controls spring oscillation, keeping the wheel on the road and steadying the body under braking and cornering. It works alongside the air spring, which carries the load while the damper controls movement.
What are the signs a front shock absorber needs replacing?
Signs a front shock absorber needs replacing include fluid leakage down the body, a bouncy or floaty ride, knocking over bumps, and uneven tyre wear. On the Range Rover L322, a worn front damper lets the air-sprung corner move too freely, hurting stability. Replace it once damping drops off.
Should front shock absorbers be replaced in pairs?
Front shock absorbers are typically replaced in pairs on the Range Rover L322 so both sides damp evenly. This part covers the right-hand front corner only; the left-hand side uses its own damper. Matching both sides keeps the front axle balanced and avoids a pull to one side.
How do I confirm this front shock absorber fits my Range Rover?
This front shock absorber fits the Range Rover L322 from 2002 to 2009, up to VIN 9A999999. Later L322 builds used revised suspension, so check your VIN against that ceiling before ordering. It suits the 3.0 TDV6, 4.4 V8 and 4.2 V8 supercharged variants.
