Air Suspension Compressor supplies pressurised air to the rear self-levelling suspension, sitting at the head of the air supply circuit ahead of the valve block and air springs.

The unit draws ambient air through the intake filter, compresses it, and delivers it to the levelling valve block, which distributes air to the rear air springs so the suspension control module can hold ride height as load changes.

Compressors most often fail through run-on - the motor cycling continuously because of a leak elsewhere in the circuit or a restricted intake filter. Both overwork the pump, so the circuit should be leak-tested and the intake filter renewed whenever the compressor is replaced.

Supplied with O-rings.

Frequently asked questions

What does the RQG100041PR air suspension compressor do?
The RQG100041PR air suspension compressor supplies pressurised air to the Discovery 2 rear self-levelling suspension. It draws ambient air through the intake filter, compresses it and feeds the levelling valve block, which distributes air to the rear air springs to hold ride height as load changes.
Where does the air suspension compressor sit in the system?
The air suspension compressor sits at the head of the air supply circuit on the Discovery 2, ahead of the valve block and rear air springs. It is the source of pressurised air for the self-levelling system and is supplied here complete with O-rings.
Why does the Discovery 2 air suspension compressor fail?
The Discovery 2 air suspension compressor typically fails when its piston seals wear, so it runs longer to build pressure and eventually cannot keep up with leaks in the system. Symptoms include a slow-rising rear, a compressor that runs constantly, or the rear sitting low.
Does the RQG100041PR fit the Discovery 2 self-levelling system?
The RQG100041PR fits the Discovery 2 from 1998-2004 rear self-levelling air suspension and includes the O-rings for connection. It is the compressor and levelling unit for that system, so confirm your Discovery 2 has rear air suspension before ordering.
