Fan Belt for the engine front-end auxiliary drive.

Driven from the crankshaft pulley, this belt turns the water pump and cooling fan together with the dynamo on a single run. Because one belt serves both the cooling circuit and the charging circuit, a slack, glazed or perished belt typically presents as two faults at once: a low or intermittent charge rate and a rising coolant temperature.

Tension is set by slackening the dynamo mountings and swinging the unit on its adjusting link until the specified deflection is obtained at the longest free span, then retightening. Belt tension should be rechecked after the first period of running, as a new belt beds in and loses some of its initial tension.

For 2.0L diesel and 2.25L petrol engines.
