Main Bearing Set - .010" Oversize is the set of crankshaft main bearing shells that carry the crankshaft in the cylinder block, supplied 0.010 in oversize on wall thickness to suit a crankshaft reground 0.010 in undersize on its main journals.
The shells locate in the block main webs and bearing caps, setting the running clearance and maintaining the oil film that supports the crankshaft under load. Bearing size must be matched to the journal diameter measured after regrinding - fitting an oversize set to standard journals, or the reverse, gives incorrect clearance and rapid bearing failure.
Replace as a complete set and check running clearances on assembly.
