Heater Blower Speed Resistor sets the lower fan speeds of the heater and ventilation blower in air-conditioned applications.

Wired in series with the blower motor, the resistor pack drops the supply voltage at the intermediate switch positions so the motor runs slower; at maximum speed the resistor is bypassed and the motor receives full supply. It mounts in the blower housing within the airflow, which cools the resistor element during operation.
