Low-pressure refrigerant from the expansion valve passes through the evaporator core while the blower draws cabin air across its fins. Heat is absorbed into the refrigerant, cooling and dehumidifying the air before it enters the cabin. It sits downstream of the expansion valve in the front air conditioning system.
