Frequently asked questions

What does the front right-hand driveshaft do?
The front right-hand driveshaft transmits drive from the front differential to the right-hand front wheel hub on the Range Rover P38. It uses constant-velocity joints at each end so drive continues through full suspension travel and steering movement.
What are the signs the front driveshaft needs replacing?
A worn front driveshaft usually shows as clicking or knocking on full steering lock, vibration under acceleration, or grease thrown from a split CV boot. On the P38 a failed CV joint can leave the front wheel without drive. Replace once the joints are worn or a boot has been split for a while.
Is this driveshaft for the left or right side, and which model?
This is the right-hand front driveshaft for the Range Rover P38 (1994-2001). The left and right shafts differ, so make sure you order the correct side. Use your VIN to confirm the front axle build before ordering.
