Raised Air Intake relocating the engine air intake from the wing-level inlet to an elevated position alongside the A-pillar, drawing air from above the bonnet line.

Moulded in impact-resistant plastic, the intake mounts to the front wing and ducts ambient air down into the standard air filter housing, working with the existing internal ducting between the wing and the airbox. Drawing from height reduces the risk of water ingestion during wading and of dust being pulled into the filter in dry, dusty conditions.

Suitable for both Td5 diesel and V8 petrol applications.

Frequently asked questions

What is the TF1039 raised air intake used for?
The TF1039 is a raised air intake (snorkel) for the Discovery 2 that relocates the engine air intake from the wing to an elevated position alongside the A-pillar. It draws air from above the bonnet line, feeding the standard air filter housing through the existing internal ducting.
Does the TF1039 fit both Td5 and V8 Discovery 2 models?
Yes. The TF1039 suits both the Td5 diesel and the V8 petrol Discovery 2 (1998-2004). It ducts ambient air down into the standard airbox on either engine, so it covers the main Discovery 2 powertrains.
Why fit a raised air intake to a Discovery 2?
A raised air intake reduces the risk of water ingestion when wading and cuts the dust pulled into the filter in dry conditions on the Discovery 2. Drawing air from A-pillar height keeps the intake clear of standing water and low-level dust.
Can the TF1039 be fitted at home?
The TF1039 typically mounts to the front wing and ducts into the existing air filter housing, so it's usually a DIY fit with hand tools. Some applications need holes cut in the wing, so check the supplied instructions before starting.
