What is the low note horn for?

The low note horn is the low-pitched half of the vehicle's dual-tone warning system, mounted behind the front grille or bumper. It sounds together with the high note horn to make the familiar two-tone horn note. Fitted to Discovery 1 and Discovery 2.

Do I need both the low and high note horns?

The dual-tone system uses a low note and a high note horn together, and this is the low note unit only. If only one tone is missing, replacing just the low note horn restores the full two-tone sound. Both firing gives the correct signal.
