Relay - Direction Indicator Flasher is the electronic flasher unit that sets the pulse rate of the direction indicator and hazard warning circuits.
It switches the indicator lamp feed on and off at the regulated flash frequency and drives the instrument pack tell-tale. The rate is generated electronically rather than by lamp current heating a bi-metallic strip, which is why a unit of this type is specified where a trailer socket adds further lamp load to the indicator circuit.
It plugs into the relay base in the fuse and relay panel.
