Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Oil Filter Gasket for the four-cylinder 2.25L/2.5L petrol and 2.5L naturally aspirated diesel engines, part of the engine lubrication circuit.

The gasket seals the joint between the oil filter housing and the cylinder block, containing the pressurised oil that is fed through the filter before it returns to the engine's oil galleries. It is renewed whenever the filter housing is disturbed, to prevent oil leaks at the mating face.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ERR4934 oil filter gasket used for?
The ERR4934 oil filter gasket seals the joint between the oil filter housing and the cylinder block on Defender four-cylinder engines. It contains the pressurised oil fed through the filter, sitting in the engine's lubrication circuit.
When should the oil filter gasket be replaced?
Replace the oil filter gasket whenever the filter housing is removed or disturbed. The old gasket shouldn't be reused, as a flattened or torn gasket typically leaks oil at the mating face once the housing is refitted.
Which engines does this gasket fit?
This gasket fits the Defender with the 2.25L four-cylinder petrol, 2.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel, or 2.5L four-cylinder petrol engine. It's a Genuine Land Rover part and suits the four-cylinder engines, not the V8 or TDi units.
