Fuel Stop Solenoid for the 200 Tdi and 300 Tdi 2.5L turbo diesel engine, mounted on the fuel injection pump.

Held open while energised through the ignition switch to allow fuel to the pump; when the ignition is switched off the solenoid de-energises and closes, shutting off the fuel supply to stop the engine. A failed solenoid is a common cause of a no-start or a failure to switch off.

Why won't my engine stop or start after the solenoid fails?
