Drive Plate (flexplate) couples the V8 petrol engine crankshaft to the automatic transmission torque converter.
The drive plate bolts to the rear of the crankshaft and carries the starter ring gear on its periphery; the torque converter mounts to its face, transmitting engine torque into the automatic gearbox.
