It bolts to the exhaust manifold outlet flanges and carries exhaust gas rearward to the intermediate pipe and silencer. The catalytic converter is integrated into the assembly rather than supplied as a separate unit.

Replacement is usually required when the catalyst substrate breaks down, or when the flange faces and pipe body corrode through.
