Parts for the full Land Rover Defender range, from classic Defender 90, 110 and 130 models built between 1983 and 2016 to the new Defender L663 introduced in 2020. Genuine, OEM and aftermarket parts in EU stock. Use the collections below to shop by generation.
The Land Rover Defender name covers two distinct vehicle platforms that share a name but little else in terms of engineering, parts compatibility, or servicing requirements.
The classic Defender (1983 to 2016) was a body-on-frame utility vehicle produced in 90, 110, and 130 wheelbase variants. It ran a series of diesel and petrol engine options across its production life, from early 2.25 petrol and diesel units through the 200Tdi, 300Tdi, Td5, and the later 2.4 and 2.2 Puma TDCi engines. Parts for these models are covered in the Defender 90, 110 and 130 parts collection.
The new Defender (2020 onwards) uses a monocoque architecture on Land Rover's D7x platform, which is also used by the Range Rover L460 and Range Rover Sport L461. It is produced in 90, 110, and 130 body configurations and is offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines including the P300, P400, D200, D240, and D300 units. Parts for these models are covered in the new Defender parts collection.
Parts are not interchangeable between the two platforms. If you are unsure which generation you have, use the guidance below before adding to your basket.
Fitment NotesConfirming your generation before ordering is the most reliable way to avoid returns and delays.
The simplest check is the model year. Classic Defenders were produced from 1983 to January 2016. New Defenders entered production from September 2020. There is no Defender model year between 2016 and 2020.
For the classic Defender, the chassis number (VIN) is stamped on the chassis rail on the right-hand side of the engine bay and also appears on a plate fixed to the bulkhead. The VIN encodes body style, engine type, and build year. For the new Defender, the VIN is found on a plate in the engine bay and is also visible through the windscreen on the lower driver-side corner.
If you have your VIN, use the parts search on roverparts.eu or contact Budget Parts directly. Providing your VIN removes ambiguity from fitment, particularly for engine-dependent parts such as gaskets, filters, sensors, and drivetrain components.
Quality TiersBudget Parts stocks three quality tiers across the Defender range. Understanding the difference helps you choose the right part for your build stage, budget, and use case.
Genuine parts are manufactured by Land Rover's approved supply chain and carry Land Rover branding. They are the exact specification used in original assembly. Genuine parts are typically the highest-cost option and are best suited to vehicles being maintained to manufacturer specification, vehicles under warranty, or restorations where originality matters.
OEM parts are manufactured by the same component suppliers that produce parts for the Land Rover production line, but are sold without Land Rover branding. The component itself is often identical to the genuine part. OEM is a strong choice for mechanical replacements where factory specification is required but original branding is not.
Aftermarket parts are produced by third-party manufacturers to a compatible specification. Quality varies by manufacturer and by part type. Budget Parts selects aftermarket lines that meet the fitment and durability requirements of the application. Aftermarket is well suited to high-wear items, body components, and non-safety-critical parts where cost efficiency matters.
All three tiers are clearly labelled on every product listing.
Parts CategoriesThe Defender range is supported across all major parts categories. Both the classic and new platforms are represented, though stock depth varies by generation and component type.
Categories stocked for the Defender range include body and chassis parts, brake parts, clutch system and kits, cooling parts, driveshaft and propshaft parts, electrical parts, engine parts, exhaust parts, fuel system parts, interior parts, lighting parts, service and maintenance parts, suspension parts, and wheels and wheel parts.
For model-specific category depth, navigate into the relevant child collection first and then apply a category filter, or use the category filter on this page alongside the Defender Classic or Defender New model filter.
EU Stock and DispatchBudget Parts operates from The Hague, Netherlands, with warehouse stock available for EU-wide dispatch. Parts marked in stock are held at the warehouse and are available for same-day dispatch on orders placed before the daily cut-off. Backorder is available on parts not currently in stock, with lead times confirmed at the time of order.
Trade and workshop buyers can apply for a wholesale account through the portal linked in the site header. Volume pricing is available on high-turnover lines including filters, brake components, fasteners, and service items.
Platform designation data for the D7x architecture is consistent with Land Rover's published product and technical documentation. The Discovery 5 (L462) uses the related but distinct D7a platform and is not covered by this collection. For VIN decoding and chassis-specific parts identification, the Land Rover JTIS (Jaguar Land Rover Technical Information System) and the relevant Land Rover parts catalogue are the authoritative references.
The articles below cover Defender-specific identification, platform differences, and parts selection in more depth. Each links back to this collection for parts.
A practical Defender buying and parts guide covering TD5 injector faults, 2.4 TDCi DPF issues, brake corrosion, and L663 fitment notes. Useful for both classic and new Defender owners researching parts before purchase.
Defender parts Europe 2025 →A guide to common faults on the 300Tdi classic Defender, with diagnostic notes, the fixes that actually hold, and the proven upgrades worth doing. Useful before ordering 300Tdi engine, cooling, or service parts.
Defender 300Tdi faults →Common 2.4 TDCi Puma faults explained, including DPF blockage, EGR issues, turbo underboost, clutch failure, and MT82 gearbox problems. Covers what to check and the parts most often involved.
Defender 2.4 TDCi problems →The classic Defender (1983 to 2016) is a body-on-frame vehicle. The new Defender (2020 onwards, internal designation L663) uses a monocoque architecture on the D7x platform. The two platforms are entirely different in construction, engine family, and parts fitment. No mechanical parts are interchangeable between them. Always confirm your model year before ordering, and use your VIN to resolve any fitment uncertainty.
The easiest check is the model year. Classic Defenders were produced from 1983 to January 2016. There are no Defender models from 2017 to 2019. New Defenders entered production in 2020. If you are unsure of the year, the VIN plate on a classic Defender is located on the chassis rail in the engine bay and on the bulkhead. On the new Defender, the VIN plate is in the engine bay and is also visible through the lower driver-side corner of the windscreen.
Yes. Budget Parts stocks all three quality tiers for both the classic and new Defender where available. Genuine parts carry Land Rover branding and are built to original assembly specification. OEM parts are manufactured by the same suppliers that supply the Land Rover production line, without brand labelling. Aftermarket parts are third-party components selected for fitment compatibility. Each listing on roverparts.eu clearly identifies which tier the part belongs to.
Yes. Budget Parts dispatches EU-wide from its warehouse in The Hague. Delivery is available across all EU member states. Yes. Budget Parts operates a wholesale portal for trade buyers, workshops, and resellers. You can register through the wholesale portal linked at the top of the site. Trade accounts provide access to volume pricing on high-turnover lines including service items, brake components, filters, fasteners, and drivetrain parts.
