Heater Hose - Inlet is a moulded coolant hose within the heater circuit of the HVAC system.

It delivers hot coolant from the engine cooling circuit to the heater matrix inlet, feeding the matrix that transfers heat into the cabin air stream. The hose is pre-formed to route around adjacent components in the engine bay and connects to the matrix spigot at one end and the cooling system at the other.

Application: 1.8L K16 four-cylinder petrol engine.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Heater Hose Inlet for the 1.8 K16 do?
The heater inlet hose delivers hot coolant from the engine cooling circuit to the heater matrix inlet on the Freelander 1 1.8 K16 petrol. It feeds the matrix that transfers heat into the cabin air, so it sits on the supply side of the HVAC heater circuit.
Why does the heater inlet hose need replacing?
The heater inlet hose perishes as the rubber hardens and cracks with age and heat on the Freelander 1. Watch for coolant leaks at the connections, a sweet coolant smell, a falling coolant level, or reduced cabin heat. A failed hose can lead to coolant loss and overheating.
Does this hose fit every Freelander 1?
This heater inlet hose fits the Freelander 1 1.8 K16 petrol up to VIN YA999999. Later build vehicles may use a different hose, so if your VIN is beyond YA999999 confirm the part before ordering. Use your VIN to check the correct variant.
Is it worth changing the outlet hose too?
It's typically worth fitting the matching heater outlet hose alongside the inlet hose on the 1.8 K16. Both hoses age together and share the same coolant circuit, so replacing the pair while the system is drained avoids a second job later.
