Shock Absorber - front suspension damper.

Mounts between the chassis bracket and the front axle, controlling the rate at which the coil spring compresses and rebounds so the axle follows the road surface instead of continuing to oscillate. Damping directly governs wheel contact, braking stability and body control under load.

Dampers act as a pair across the axle and should be replaced in pairs so damping rates stay matched side to side.
