View full detailsParts for the Range Rover Evoque L538, covering all variants from 2011 to 2019 including the 5-door, 3-door, and convertible, this collection covers pre-facelift and post-facelift specifications. If you own the 2019-onward Evoque, see the L551 parts collection.
The Range Rover Evoque L538 is the first-generation Evoque, produced at Halewood, UK from July 2011 to 2019 under chassis code L538. Model years run from 2012 to 2019. The collection covers the 5-door and 3-door SUV variants (produced through to 2018) and the convertible (produced from 2016 to 2019).
The L538 rides on the D8 platform, also known as LR-MS, a high-strength steel monocoque architecture developed by Land Rover as a heavily modified derivative of the Ford EUCD base. The D8 platform is also used on the Land Rover Discovery Sport. This architecture gives the Evoque a car-like driving character distinct from the body-on-frame and aluminium-intensive platforms used in other Range Rover generations.
Drivetrain configuration varies by variant. Four-wheel drive vehicles use a Haldex-based on-demand AWD system. Front-wheel drive was available on select diesel variants, specifically the eD4, which used a single-clutch, front-axle-only setup for improved efficiency. Confirming your drivetrain before ordering driveline, coupling, or differential components is essential. Generation-specific Haldex AWD service information is published by Haldex.
This collection does not cover the Range Rover Evoque L551 (2019 onward). If your vehicle was registered from 2019 onward, use the L551 parts collection linked in the intro above this product grid.
The L538 production run splits into two distinct specifications at the 2015 model year.
Pre-facelift vehicles (model years 2012 to 2015) used Ford-derived powerplants. Petrol variants used the 2.0L Ford EcoBoost Si4 turbo four-cylinder. Diesel variants used the 2.2L Ford Duratorq (PSA DW12) in TD4 and SD4 states of tune. The automatic gearbox on pre-facelift vehicles is the 6-speed Ford Aisin AW F-21 unit, also designated the Aisin Warner TF-81SC.
Post-facelift vehicles (model years 2016 to 2019) introduced JLR's Ingenium engine family. Both petrol and diesel variants moved to the 2.0L Ingenium turbo four-cylinder. The 9-speed ZF 9HP automatic gearbox replaced the 6-speed unit on automatic variants. The 6-speed Getrag M66EH50 manual remained available in select markets on diesel variants throughout the production run.
Engine-specific parts including oil filters, timing components, gaskets, sensors, and turbo components are not interchangeable between the Ford-derived and Ingenium specifications. Always confirm your engine code and model year before ordering.
Reference note: ZF 9HP transmission technical information is published by ZF Group.
Fitment GuidanceThe most reliable method for confirming parts fitment on an L538 is your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is a 17-character code stamped on the door jamb plate, on the windscreen base near the A-pillar (driver or passenger side depending on market variant), and recorded in your V5C or national registration document.
The tenth character of the VIN encodes the model year. The eighth character encodes the engine variant. If you are ordering engine-specific parts, turbo components, gearbox parts, or any item that changed at the 2015 facelift, cross-referencing your VIN with the part number is strongly recommended before purchase.
If you are unsure which specification your vehicle is, contact the Budget Parts team directly. Trade account holders can request fitment confirmation through the wholesale portal.
Catalogue ScopeThis collection includes suspension parts such as control arms, bushings, drop links, anti-roll bars, shock absorbers, and wheel bearings. Brake parts include pads, discs, calipers, brake pipes, and brake hardware. Engine parts cover oil filters, sump washers, hydraulic tappets, expansion tank caps, and ancillary components. Drivetrain parts include propshaft bolts, driveshaft components, and wheel nuts. The collection also includes electrical parts such as relays and sensors, service and maintenance items including ATF fluids and service hardware, body and chassis fixings, and workshop supplies including brake cleaner and fastener assortments.
Use the category filter above to narrow results to your area of work. The quality filter allows you to select between Genuine Land Rover, OEM, and Aftermarket grades.
Quality TiersEvery part in this collection is marked with one of three quality grades.
Genuine Land Rover parts are sourced through the official Jaguar Land Rover distribution channel. They carry the original Land Rover part number and packaging. These are the appropriate choice when OEM provenance documentation is required, such as for warranty or insurance purposes.
OEM parts are produced by the same manufacturers that supply Land Rover directly, sold outside the official JLR channel. The component is frequently identical to the Genuine part. OEM is the standard choice for independent workshops and experienced owners who want original-specification quality without the official channel markup.
Aftermarket parts are independently manufactured. Quality varies by supplier and application. Each listing specifies the grade, and the product description notes any relevant fitment or application limitations. Aftermarket is appropriate for non-critical components or where cost is the primary constraint.
TradeBudget Parts operates a wholesale portal for registered independent workshops and trade buyers across the EU. The portal provides trade pricing and account-based ordering. If you manage a workshop or operate as a parts buyer, visit the wholesale login page to access trade terms or register your account.
Generation ReferenceThe L538 is the first-generation Evoque. The second-generation Evoque, the L551, entered production in 2019 on the PTA platform with 48V mild-hybrid technology and Ingenium engines throughout. Parts are not interchangeable between generations.
For the full Range Rover model family and generation reference, see the Range Rover parts collection.
Technical GuidesThe articles below provide diagnostic and technical context relevant to Range Rover Evoque L538 owners and workshops. They support, but do not duplicate, the parts categories in this collection.
Technical guide to the L538 covering the Ford-to-Ingenium engine split, Haldex service requirements, and the suspension and platform architecture that defined the first-generation Evoque.
Range Rover Evoque L538 guide →Owner and workshop guide to the Evoque convertible covering the structural changes for the open-roof configuration, the electric roof system, AWD configuration, and common faults relevant to parts selection.
Range Rover Evoque convertible guide →The Freelander 2 shares Haldex AWD architecture and overlapping engine families with the Evoque L538. This guide covers Haldex service intervals, coupling failure patterns, and rear differential diagnosis that applies directly to L538 AWD variants.
Freelander 2 faults and Haldex service guide →The Range Rover Evoque L538 was produced from July 2011 to 2019. Model years run from 2012 to 2019. The 5-door and 3-door SUV variants were produced through to 2018. The convertible variant was introduced in 2016 and produced through to 2019. Parts availability in this collection covers the full L538 production window across all body styles.
If your vehicle was registered before 2019, it is almost certainly the L538 first generation. If registered from 2019 onward, it is the L551 second generation. The clearest confirmation is your VIN. The tenth character of your 17-character VIN encodes the model year. You can also check the driver's door jamb plate, which will show the build date and in some markets the chassis code. If you are unsure, contact Budget Parts directly before ordering.
The L538 was significantly updated at the 2015 model year. Pre-facelift vehicles use Ford-derived engines (2.0L EcoBoost petrol, 2.2L Duratorq diesel) and a 6-speed Aisin automatic gearbox. Post-facelift vehicles use JLR Ingenium engines (2.0L petrol and diesel) and a 9-speed ZF 9HP automatic. Engine-specific parts including oil filters, timing components, turbo components, and gaskets are not interchangeable between these specifications. Always confirm your model year and engine code before ordering.
Four-wheel drive variants of the L538 use an on-demand Haldex AWD system. This couples the rear axle electronically and distributes torque when front-axle slip is detected. Some diesel variants were available in front-wheel drive only, specifically the eD4, which does not use a rear differential or Haldex coupling at all. Confirming your drivetrain configuration before ordering rear axle, coupling, or propshaft components is important. If you are unsure, check your V5C or contact Budget Parts.
The L538 used two engine families across its production run. Pre-facelift vehicles (2012 to 2015 model year) used the 2.0L Ford EcoBoost Si4 turbo petrol and the 2.2L Ford Duratorq (PSA DW12) diesel in TD4 and SD4 outputs. Post-facelift vehicles (2016 to 2019 model year) used JLR's 2.0L Ingenium turbo four-cylinder in both petrol and diesel forms. Parts that are engine-specific are listed with applicable engine codes in the product descriptions.
The L538 uses the D8 platform, also known as the LR-MS. This is a high-strength steel monocoque architecture developed by Land Rover as a substantially redesigned derivative of the Ford EUCD base. The same platform underpins the Land Rover Discovery Sport. It is a different architecture to the aluminium-intensive platforms used on the Range Rover L405 and Range Rover Sport L494.
