Range Rover Velar parts →Most Range Rover parts are chassis-specific. A part that fits an L322 will not fit an L405 or an L460. A part that fits a Range Rover Sport L494 will not fit a Sport L320 or Sport L461. Two reliable confirmation methods exist.
The first is your 17-digit VIN. Position 10 identifies the model year on all post-1980 Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles, and positions 4 through 8 encode the vehicle descriptor section (engine, transmission, drive type, body style). A Land Rover dealer or authorised VIN decoder can return the full build specification from this string.
The second is your engine code, visible on the engine identification plate. Land Rover engine codes such as 306DT, 276DT, AJ133, M62, M57, and AJ20 each map to specific generations and production phases. The generation table above lists the engine families used on each chassis code.

Genuine Land Rover parts are supplied through the official Jaguar Land Rover distribution network. They carry the Land Rover part number, Land Rover packaging, and full traceability to the JLR supply chain. Choose Genuine for vehicles still under manufacturer warranty, repairs requiring official parts for compliance or insurance reasons, and concours-grade restoration where original packaging matters.
OEM parts are produced by the same component supplier that manufactures the Genuine part, but sold outside the JLR distribution channel. The physical component is frequently identical to the Genuine version, often with a different box and no Land Rover part number on the label. Choose OEM for cost-effective repairs where original specification quality matters without the official-channel markup. Independent workshops working on vehicles outside warranty most often choose this grade.
Aftermarket parts are independently manufactured alternatives. Quality varies by supplier, so each Budget Parts aftermarket listing identifies the manufacturer where known. Choose aftermarket for older vehicles where Genuine parts may no longer be available, non-critical components, or budget-led repairs. The four are structurally distinct sub-brands. The full-size Range Rover line (Classic, P38, L322, L405, L460) is the original flagship, with a longer wheelbase, more luxury-focused trim, and the largest engine range. The Range Rover Sport line (L320, L494, L461) is performance-oriented, built on platforms shared with full-size Range Rover (L494 on D7u with L405, L461 on MLA-Flex with L460) but with shorter wheelbase, sportier suspension geometry, and SVR-style performance variants where applicable.
