The gudgeon pin bush is the small-end bush pressed into the connecting rod. It forms the bearing surface between the gudgeon (piston) pin and the small end of the rod on the 2.25L and 2.5L four-cylinder petrol engines. Supplied as a single bush.

This gudgeon pin bush fits Series II, IIA and III 2.25L petrol engines and the Defender (up to 2006) 2.25L and 2.5L four-cylinder petrol engines. It's part of the connecting rod small end.
When is the gudgeon pin bush replaced?
A worn small-end bush typically causes a light knock from the top of the engine. The bush is pressed in and reamed to fit the gudgeon pin during a rebuild. Alternative code 265170 also applies.
