Aftermarket Part
Aftermarket: Quality alternative. This is a quality alternative, designed to fit and function like the original part, often at a more competitive price.

Frequently asked questions

What does the cylinder head bolt do on a TDV6 or TDV8 engine?
The cylinder head bolt clamps the cylinder head to the block on Land Rover TDV6 and TDV8 diesel engines, holding the head gasket tight to seal combustion pressure, coolant and oil passages. It's a torque-to-yield bolt sized M13 x 155 and works as a full set across the head.
How many cylinder head bolts are needed per engine?
It depends on the engine. The 2.7 and 3.0 TDV6 use 8 cylinder head bolts per head, while the 3.6 and 4.4 TDV8 use 10 per head. Each bolt is supplied individually. These are V engines with two heads, so a full job typically needs twice the per-head figure.
Can cylinder head bolts be reused or must they be replaced?
Cylinder head bolts on these TDV6 and TDV8 engines must be replaced, not reused. They're torque-to-yield fasteners that stretch permanently when torqued, so a used bolt can't hold the correct clamping load and risks head gasket failure. Fit new bolts whenever the cylinder head is removed.
Which Land Rover models does this cylinder head bolt fit?
This cylinder head bolt fits the Discovery 3, Discovery 4 and Discovery 5, Range Rover L322 and L405, and Range Rover Sport L320 and L494 with TDV6 or TDV8 diesel engines. Check your VIN against the engine variant, as the bolt count differs between the V6 and V8.
