Kilometerkabel – LHD is de mechanische aandrijfkabel die de rijsnelheid doorgeeft aan de snelheidsmeter. De roterende binnenkabel loopt binnenin een beschermende buitenmantel, van de snelheidsmeteraandrijving op de verdeelbak naar de achterzijde van de snelheidsmeterkop, en laat het instrumentmechanisme draaien in verhouding tot de rijsnelheid.

Dit is de linkse stuurkabel, geleid en op maat gesneden voor de LHD-dashboardpositie, voor 4-cilinder toepassingen.

Een droge, geknikte of gerafelde binnenkabel is de gebruikelijke oorzaak van een lawaaierige, schokkerige of vastzittende snelheidsmeternaald. De kabel moet licht gesmeerd worden gehouden, en een kabel die intern begonnen is te breken, moet worden vernieuwd.

What does the LHD speedometer cable do?

The speedometer cable is the mechanical drive that transmits road speed to the speedometer. Its rotating inner core runs inside a protective outer sheath from the speedometer drive on the transfer box to the back of the speedometer head. This is the left-hand-drive cable, cut to length for the LHD dashboard, for 4-cylinder applications.

Why does a speedometer cable make the needle jump?

A dry, kinked or fraying inner core is the usual cause of a noisy, jumpy or sticking speedometer needle. Keeping the core lightly lubricated helps, but once the cable starts breaking up internally it should be renewed. A seized core can also snap, leaving the speedometer dead.

Is this cable for left-hand-drive vehicles?

This is the left-hand-drive speedometer cable, with the length and routing for the LHD dashboard position on 4-cylinder vehicles. Right-hand-drive cars use a different length, so confirm your vehicle is LHD. On early Range Rover Classic, check the VIN against the listed build breaks.
