What does the inline petrol fuel filter do?
The inline fuel filter sits in the low-pressure fuel line between the tank and the pump or carburettor, trapping grit and rust before they reach the metering parts. It protects the carburettor and fuel pump on petrol Land Rovers. Fitted to Series 2 and 3, Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic petrol models.
Does this fuel filter fit all Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic petrol models?
On Discovery 1 it covers V8 petrol from VIN FA393361 to WA799999, and on Range Rover Classic V8 petrol up to VIN HA610293. Outside those VIN ranges the fuel system can differ, so check your VIN against these breaks before ordering.
When should the inline fuel filter be replaced?
Replace the inline fuel filter as part of routine fuel system servicing, or sooner if you notice fuel starvation, hesitation or poor running. A blocked filter restricts flow and starves the engine. Consult your vehicle's service schedule for the recommended interval.
