De stuurbekrachtigingspomp is de door de motor aangedreven hydraulische pomp die het hart vormt van het stuurbekrachtigingssysteem van de 300 TDi 2.5L turbodiesel.

De pomp, die door de motor via een riem wordt aangedreven, zuigt vloeistof uit het reservoir aan en levert deze onder druk aan de stuurinrichting. Daar gebruikt de interne regelklep die druk om de kracht te verminderen die nodig is om de wielen te draaien. Een geïntegreerde overdrukventiel beperkt de output van de pomp om het systeem bij volledige uitslag te beschermen.

Het pomphuis bevat de toevoeraansluiting van het reservoir en de hogedrukuitlaat die naar de stuurinrichting loopt.
