What is the BTR445 heater return hose for?
The BTR445 is a moulded heater return hose in the engine cooling circuit. It carries coolant from the heater matrix back to the engine cooling system. The hose is pre-shaped for the 200 TDi engine installation in right-hand-drive form.
Which vehicles does the BTR445 heater hose fit?
The BTR445 fits the 200 TDi Land Rover Defender built 1990 to 1994 and Discovery 1 built 1989 to 1994, both right-hand drive. It's the heater return coolant hose for that engine. Confirm you have the 200 TDi engine in RHD before ordering.
Why do heater hoses like the BTR445 need replacing?
Heater hoses typically fail as the rubber perishes, cracks or softens with age and heat cycling, which can cause coolant leaks and overheating. On the 200 TDi a split heater return hose loses coolant and cabin heat. Replacing a perished hose restores a sealed cooling circuit.
