The DYQ100230 scrivet is a two-piece plastic push-fit fastener that secures trim panels, facia sections and splash shields. The body locates into a pre-drilled hole and the centre pin pushes home to expand the shank, locking the fastener against the panel.

How many scrivet clips will I need for a job?

Scrivets are sold individually and most trim or facia jobs use several at once, since panels are held by multiple clips. Count the fixings on the panel you're removing and order that quantity, plus a few spares, as the pins can distort on removal.

Can a scrivet be removed and reused?

Scrivets can sometimes be reused if the body and pin are undamaged, but the centre pin and shank often distort when prised out, so many fitters replace them as a matter of course. Lift the centre pin to release, then withdraw the body to free the panel.
