De leiding transporteert onder druk staande motorolie van het cilinderblok naar het centrale huis van de turbolader, waarbij de lagers van de turboschacht worden gesmeerd en gekoeld. Een geblokkeerde of lekkende toevoerleiding ontneemt het lager olie en kan leiden tot uitval van de turbolader.
