Afdichtstrip voor de achterklep, geïnstalleerd rondom de opening van de achterklep, binnen het afdichtsysteem van de achterzijde.

De afdichting past op de carrosserieopening en vormt het compressievlak tegen de achterklep wanneer deze gesloten is, waardoor het binnendringen van water, stof en lucht in de laadruimte wordt voorkomen. Wordt gebruikt op modellen die zijn uitgerust met een eendelige achterklepconfiguratie, waarbij de klep sluit tegen de aan de carrosserie gemonteerde randafdichting.

Het onderdeel maakt deel uit van de afdichtingsconstructie van de achterste carrosserieopening en fungeert als de primaire weersafdichting tussen het buitenpaneel van de achterklep en de flens van de carrosserieopening van het voertuig.
