What does this U-bolt do?

This U-bolt clamps the front leaf spring pack to the axle housing on Land Rover Series models. It passes around the axle housing and through the spring plate, holding the 11-leaf front spring firmly against the axle saddle so the spring locates the axle correctly.

How many U-bolts are needed for a leaf spring?

You'll typically need more than one. Each front leaf spring is usually held by a pair of U-bolts, so a full axle generally takes four. Check how many your setup uses and consider replacing them together, since they share the clamping load across the spring pack.

Which Land Rover Series does this U-bolt fit?
