This thermostat manages coolant flow through the engine cooling system. It holds coolant in the block while the engine warms, then opens at its rated 82°C to circulate it through the radiator and stabilise temperature. It seats in the engine's thermostat housing on Td5 and TDCi diesels.

Which models and engines is this thermostat for?

It's for the Defender 1998-2016 fitted with the Td5 or the 2.4L and 2.2L TDCi Puma diesel, and the Discovery 2 1998-2004 with the Td5 diesel or V8 petrol. These engines share the same thermostat and housing arrangement.
