Brand Koning

Frequently asked questions

What is the V8 conrod bearing set (RTC2117) for?
This conrod bearing set is the replaceable big-end shell bearings that fit between the connecting rods and the crankshaft journals on the Rover V8. They give the surface through which the rods drive the crank. It's a King-branded set.
Which V8 engines does this conrod set fit?
It fits the 3.5, 3.9 and 4.2-litre Rover V8, but not the later 4.0 or 4.6 cross-drilled block. Applications include Defender, Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic and the Series 109 Stage One V8.
What does the Standard size mean?
Standard size suits crankpins at their original, unmachined diameters. If the crankshaft has been reground, you'll need an undersize set instead, so check the journals before ordering.
What are the signs the conrod bearings need replacing?
Big-end knock, low oil pressure and measured bearing wear typically point to conrod bearing replacement. They're usually renewed during an engine rebuild once the crank is accessible.
