Frequently asked questions

What does the TF507 rear spring retaining plate do?
The TF507 rear spring retaining plates bolt to the axle to hold the rear coil springs in position on the Defender 110 and 130. When long-travel shocks let the suspension droop fully, the springs can unseat, and these zinc-plated steel plates keep them located. Supplied as a pair.
Do these plates fit a Defender 90?
No, the TF507 retaining plates fit the Defender 110 and 130 wheelbase only, not the 90. Confirm your wheelbase before ordering. They're designed for the rear axle spring seats on the longer-wheelbase Defenders built up to 2016.
When do I need spring retaining plates?
Rear spring retaining plates are typically needed when extended-travel shock absorbers are fitted, letting the axle drop far enough to unseat the coil springs. They're usually used alongside dislocation cones so the springs re-seat correctly as the suspension compresses. Standard-travel setups don't normally require them.
