Frequently asked questions

What is the Door Lock Button (345436) used for?
The door lock button is the interior push-and-twist (thumbscrew) lock control. Pressing and rotating it engages or disengages the door locking mechanism, working with the door latch assembly. It's the original locking action fitted to Land Rover Series 2, 2A and 3 door assemblies.
Where does this lock button fit?
The lock button fits on the interior left-hand side, on the front and rear side doors, according to the fitment notes. It sits at the top of the door and is operated by hand, so check it matches the thumbscrew-style lock your doors use.
How does the push-and-twist lock button work?
The push-and-twist button locks the door by pressing it down and rotating it, which holds the latch in the locked position. It's the original thumbscrew mechanism for Series door assemblies and works together with the door latch, not as a standalone lock.
