Heater Hose – Inlet carries hot coolant from the engine cooling circuit to the heater matrix, forming part of the cabin heating system.

The inlet hose feeds heated coolant into the matrix; the blower then draws cabin air across the matrix to warm the interior, and the cooled coolant returns to the engine through the outlet hose. A perished, split or collapsed hose causes coolant loss and reduced heater output.

Frequently asked questions

What does the inlet heater hose do?
The inlet heater hose carries hot coolant from the engine cooling circuit to the heater matrix, feeding heat into the cabin heating system on Land Rover Series II and Series III. The blower draws cabin air across the matrix to warm the interior, and cooled coolant returns through the outlet hose.
Does this heater hose fit a Series Lightweight?
No, this inlet heater hose is not suitable for the Series Lightweight. It fits standard Land Rover Series II and Series III models. The Lightweight used a different heating arrangement, so check your variant before ordering this hose.
What are the signs the heater hose needs replacing?
A perished, split or collapsed heater hose causes coolant loss and weak heater output on Series II and III models. Look for damp residue, soft or cracked rubber, and a heater that won't warm up. A new inlet hose restores coolant flow to the matrix.
