Lock Nut - M12, a flanged nut with a nylon insert that resists loosening under vibration.

It secures steering and suspension fasteners such as track rod end studs, steering damper mountings, anti-roll bar links and the front radius arm bush bolt (companion bolt ANR1191). The nylon insert grips the thread to maintain clamp load on joints subject to road and steering loads.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ANR1000 M12 lock nut used for?
The ANR1000 is an M12 flanged lock nut with a nylon insert that resists loosening under vibration. It secures steering and suspension fasteners such as track rod end studs, steering damper mountings and anti-roll bar links on the Discovery 2 and Range Rover P38.
Can the ANR1000 lock nut be reused?
These nylon-insert lock nuts are typically single-use. Once torqued, the nylon insert deforms around the thread, so reusing it gives a weaker grip against vibration. On steering and suspension joints it's good practice to fit a fresh ANR1000 each time the joint is disturbed.
How many ANR1000 nuts do I need?
It depends on the job. Steering and suspension repairs on the Discovery 2 and P38 often need several M12 lock nuts, for example one per track rod end or anti-roll bar link. Count the joints you're disturbing, since these nuts are typically single-use and should be replaced.
