Radius Arm Bush - Front for the front suspension radius arm assembly.

This rubber bush is pressed into the forward end of the front radius arm and provides the pivoting, compliant interface between the arm and its chassis mounting bracket. It controls fore-and-aft axle location while isolating road vibration and shock loads from the chassis, maintaining correct suspension geometry throughout the suspension travel range.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ANR6971G Front Radius Arm Bush do?
The ANR6971G Front Radius Arm Bush is pressed into the forward end of the front radius arm on the Defender. It forms the pivoting interface between the arm and the chassis mounting bracket, controlling fore-and-aft axle location while absorbing road shock and isolating vibration from the chassis.
When should the front radius arm bush be replaced?
Worn radius arm bushes typically produce clunking from the front suspension under acceleration and braking, vague steering response, and poor directional stability. Visible cracking or distortion of the rubber confirms replacement is needed. A worn bush allows fore-and-aft axle movement affecting handling and tyre wear.
Which Defenders use the ANR6971G front radius arm bush?
The ANR6971G fits the Defender from VIN VA130785 through to the end of production in 2016, covering both the pre-Puma and Puma (from VIN 7A000001) generations. Defenders before VIN VA130785 use a different specification front radius arm bush.
