What is the ERC8124 gasket for?

The ERC8124 is a manifold gasket for the 2.25 and 2.5 litre 4-cylinder petrol engines. It seals the joint where the manifold bolts to the cylinder head, keeping the gas seal tight so the engine breathes and runs cleanly.

Which vehicles does it fit?

This gasket fits the 2.25 and 2.5 litre petrol engines used in the Land Rover Series 2 and 3 and the early Defender. Cross-reference ERR4387. Confirm your engine size before ordering.

What happens if the gasket fails?

A failed manifold gasket lets air or exhaust leak at the head joint, which shows as rough running, a flat spot, a ticking noise or a smell of fumes. Renewing the gasket restores a proper seal and normal running.

Fit a new manifold gasket whenever the manifold is removed from the 2.25 or 2.5 petrol engine. Clean both mating faces first and never reuse the old gasket, as it will not seal reliably a second time.
