Aftermarket Part

Oil Pump - 200Tdi is the engine-driven pump responsible for circulating pressurised oil throughout the lubrication system of the 200Tdi 2.5L direct-injection diesel engine.

Mounted in the lower front of the engine and driven off the crankshaft, the oil pump draws oil from the sump and delivers it under pressure to the main bearings, big-end bearings, camshaft, and valve train. Wear in the pump gears reduces flow capacity and pressure, which can lead to bearing damage and premature engine wear. Replacement is recommended as a precaution during any major engine rebuild.

Frequently asked questions

What does the oil pump do on the 200Tdi?
The oil pump circulates pressurised oil through the lubrication system of the 200Tdi 2.5L diesel engine. Driven off the crankshaft, it draws oil from the sump and feeds it under pressure to the main and big-end bearings, camshaft and valve train.
Where is the oil pump fitted on the 200Tdi?
The oil pump is mounted at the lower front of the 200Tdi engine and driven directly off the crankshaft. It sits in the oil circuit between the sump pickup and the main oil gallery that feeds the engine bearings.
When should the 200Tdi oil pump be replaced?
Replace the oil pump as a precaution during any major engine rebuild. Worn pump gears reduce oil flow and pressure, which can starve the bearings and cause premature engine wear, so a fresh pump protects the new bottom end.
