Transfer Box Gear Change Bush for the LT230 transfer box gear change and differential lock linkage.

This bush fits the gear change linkage connecting the transfer box high/low range selector to the main gearbox, cushioning the connection and reducing free play at the linkage pivot points. The same bush also fits the differential lock selector linkage on applicable variants. Worn bushes cause imprecise range engagement and increased selector lever play.

Frequently asked questions

What does the FRC4499 Transfer Box Gear Change Bush do?
FRC4499 is a gear change linkage bush for the LT230 two-speed transfer box. It fits the pivot points on the high/low range selector linkage, cushioning the connection and reducing free play. The same bush also fits the differential lock selector linkage on applicable variants.
What are the signs the FRC4499 bush needs replacing?
Worn FRC4499 bushes cause imprecise high/low range engagement and excess play at the selector lever. If your transfer box selector feels vague, takes multiple attempts to engage a range, or has noticeable slop, these bushes are typically the cause.
Which vehicles use the FRC4499 gear change bush?
It fits the LT230 transfer box across the Land Rover Defender 1987-2016 (5-speed LT77S manual and V8 automatic), Discovery 1 (manual and automatic, also covers the diff lock linkage), and Range Rover Classic 1986-1994.
