Frequently asked questions

What is the Rear Drum Right Brake Pipe and what does it do?
The Rear Drum Right Brake Pipe is a pre-formed rigid pipe that carries hydraulic pressure to the right-hand rear drum brake on the Land Rover Defender 1987-2006. It's shaped to follow the original chassis routing for a direct fit in a non-ABS rear drum configuration.
How many pipes come in this Brake Pipe set?
This Brake Pipe is supplied as two CuNiFer (copper-nickel alloy) pipes of 65 cm, serving the right-hand rear drum brake on the Defender 1987-2006. CuNiFer pipe resists corrosion better than plain steel and bends to follow the original routing.
Why replace the rear brake pipe?
The rear brake pipe typically needs replacing when corrosion or pitting threatens the line, since a leak cuts hydraulic pressure to the right-hand rear drum on the Defender. Bleed the brakes after fitting to clear air from the circuit.
