Oil Cooler Feed Pipe for the engine oil cooling system of the Defender, carrying pressurised oil from the engine to the oil cooler.

This pipe is part of the early oil cooler circuit fitted to 90" and 110" models with the 2.5-litre Turbo Diesel (non-TDi) and 4-cylinder petrol and naturally-aspirated diesel engines. It uses an imperial conical compression fitting at the cooler connection, which is not interchangeable with the later metric o-ring type fittings used on TDi-onwards models.

The companion oil cooler return pipe is NTC2928.

Frequently asked questions

What is the NTC2927 oil cooler feed pipe for?
The NTC2927 feed pipe carries pressurised oil from the engine to the oil cooler on the Land Rover Defender with the 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine. It's the supply leg of the early oil cooler circuit, fitted between VIN FA389799 and LA939975.
What's the difference between this early oil cooler pipe and the later type?
The NTC2927 uses an imperial conical compression fitting at the cooler, which doesn't interchange with the later metric o-ring style pipes used on Tdi-onwards models. Match your fitting type and VIN (FA389799 to LA939975) before ordering to avoid a mismatch.
Do I need the return pipe as well?
The companion return pipe is NTC2928, which carries cooled oil back to the engine. When replacing corroded or leaking oil cooler pipes it's usually worth doing both feed and return together, since they share the same age and imperial fitting type.
Why do these oil cooler pipes fail?
Oil cooler pipes typically fail through external corrosion, chafing, or a weeping compression fitting, leading to oil loss. On the 2.5 four-cylinder Defender the imperial conical fittings can seep if disturbed, so a leak at the union is a common reason for replacement.
