OEM Part
OEM: Made by an Original Equipment Manufacturer. This part is made by an original equipment manufacturer or under their license, ensuring compatibility and quality.
Intercooler Hose for the turbocharged charge-air circuit of the TD4 M47 2.0L 16V diesel engine.

It forms part of the boost pipework between the turbocharger and the intercooler, carrying pressurised charge air and sealing the path so cooled, compressed air is delivered to the intake. The moulded hose is shaped to route around adjacent engine-bay components and clamps to its mating connections at each end.

A secure, leak-free joint here is essential to maintaining boost pressure; a perished or split hose causes a loss of charge pressure and reduced engine performance.

Frequently asked questions

What does the TD4 turbo intercooler hose do?
This intercooler hose sits in the boost pipework between the turbocharger and the intercooler on the Freelander 1 TD4 (BMW M47 2.0L). It carries pressurised charge air from the turbo to the intercooler and seals the joint at each clamped end.
How is this different from the other TD4 intercooler hose?
This is the turbo-to-intercooler hose, carrying hot pressurised air straight from the turbocharger. The other TD4 charge-air hose runs from the intercooler to the inlet manifold with cooled air. Check which end of the circuit you're replacing before ordering.
What happens when this turbo hose splits?
A split or perished turbo hose typically causes a loss of charge pressure, black smoke and reduced performance on the TD4. The moulded hose softens with heat and oil over time, so a clean, sealed joint at both clamps is essential to hold boost.
