Ride Height Sensor - rear suspension height sensor for the self-levelling air suspension system.

The sensor measures the position of the axle relative to the body and sends this signal to the suspension control module, which regulates the air springs to hold the vehicle at its target ride height under varying load. A faulty or out-of-calibration sensor causes incorrect levelling, suspension fault warnings and the system reverting to a safe default height.

Frequently asked questions

What does the rear ride height sensor do?
The rear ride height sensor measures the position of the rear axle relative to the body on the self-levelling air suspension. It sends that signal to the suspension control module, which adjusts the air springs to hold the target ride height under varying load.
Which Land Rover models does this ride height sensor fit?
This rear ride height sensor fits the Discovery 2 (1998-2004) and the Range Rover L322 (2002-2009) air suspension. On the Discovery 2 it's the rear suspension sensor; on the L322 it's the air suspension height sensor. Confirm your model before ordering.
What are the symptoms of a faulty ride height sensor?
A faulty or out-of-calibration ride height sensor causes incorrect levelling, suspension fault warnings, and the system dropping to a safe default height. The vehicle may sit too low or too high, or refuse to raise. These are the usual signs the sensor needs attention.
Does the new sensor need calibrating after fitting?
Ride height sensors typically need calibrating with Land Rover diagnostic equipment after fitting, so the control module reads the new sensor correctly. Without calibration the suspension may still level incorrectly. It's usually a specialist step rather than a plug-and-play swap.
