Description:
Crankshaft Bearing (main bearing shell) for the BMW M51D25 2.5L 6-cylinder diesel engine.
The main bearing shells sit in the bearing saddles of the crankcase and bearing caps, supporting the crankshaft main journals and controlling crankshaft rotation under load. Correct bearing clearance is critical for maintaining adequate oil film pressure and preventing premature wear to both the bearing and crankshaft journal surfaces.
